Why should I bother adding tags to a card when I can just free text search?

You should use tags to organize in a strict way, i.e. to organize all documentation belonging to a certain customer. A free text search on the other hand will return things that are relevant, including things that are related, but not necessarily an exact match on what you’re looking for.
